Item Description

Gasoline Generators Description:  Inverter generators have several advantages over conventional generators, offering higher quality power in a portable package: [1]Higher fuel efficiency, [2]Can run in Parallel, and [3]Less Noise. These newer generators combine engine and generator parts, allowing for a smaller size and lighter weight. Because inverter generators automatically adjust engine speed according to the need, they can run on almost 40 less fuel than conventional generators (that must maintain a steady 3600 RPM, no matter how little the load). And because they don't run on full speed all the time, and are built with sound dampening materials, they are much quieter. And most inverter generators can be paired with another unit to double the power capacity. But the two must be identical in size or output capacity. So now you can have power and portability.

One thing to keep in mind with this Honeywell Inverter Generator: the DC output can vary from 12-18 volts and is unregulated so should not be used to charge batteries. But you will have AC and DC power.

Amazon Description:  2000W Honeywell inverter generator. Added features are power indicator light, AC and DC overload protection, clean sine wave. Bonus accessories : Oil fill canister, oil drain tube and tool kit (spark plug socket and reversible Phillips and slotted screwdriver), 1 liter, 10W30 oil, funnel, 12V cord. Sound rating : 58dB (7m).

Bigger than expected. Heavier than expected. Louder than expected. Not easy to start – hint fresh fuel seems to be important. Negatives behind us, it does work. I live at 5000′ elevation – explains difficult start? A smaller carburetor jet is recommended above 5000′. Where to get one? – your problem. Some of the noise is a vibrating side inspection panel. A little foam insulation stripping cut that dramatically. Power saving feature cuts the db level but don’t put a big load on it – rv a/c – in that mode, or it will quit. OK at full RPM. All said and done – it works for me – just be forewarned about negatives. See other reviews. Good Luck – hope this helps.

This generator is an excellent solution for small homes or motor home. For camping I think it is too big and you don’t need 2000W. I bought it for backup the energy service of my house.

The great of this product is first the price and second the size comparing it with products similars. This portable generator is perfect to a small house because you can store inside a small space.

The generator is not too silent, but is aceptable. I thought I could use it inside the house, near to electrical panel, and It is not possible because of the monoxide. The generator is four stroke, and for this reason it not produce smoke.

It have used it for one week and it work perfect with all lights, my TV plasma 50inch, my water pump, microwave (1100wat). My recomendation is you have to administrate the energy generated, and you can not turn on every appliance at the same time. For example I don’t turn on microwave with other high energy cosume appliances at the same time.

In conclusion, this product is excellent solution for small house and recreational purpose.

This generator does what you expect of an inverter generator, it runs quietly at a low load. One person can lift it, though not easily. My biggest complaint is that it can be hard to start. When they say press the primer button 30 – 50 times, they aren’t kidding.

Out of the box, it would not start, – 10 points. Called Honeywell…Said fill, fill it to the top with gas….guess they thing we are all Obama’s…Think you, it was full. The telephone operator, read from a sheet, as if as an adult I’d not know to read the bloody manual, another -ten points. After reviewing everything I already knew, I pulled my bloody back out trying to start it! Waited three days, went at it again, still a no go! They said call a local authorized service technician, I did……Are you sitting down? He said “Return it, it’s junk, I had nothing but trouble with the 2000 model, in fact I stopped ordering them, because the customers had so many problems, I was out hundreds’” He went on to say..”I called my distributer, and was told by “HONEYWELL” they had nothing but problems with these, and not to order any more”. So, here I sit, AMAZON, will not accept the return, we are at -40 points now! The local service center, will not service them, because he can’t fix them, it’s a starter design issue, and I’m stuck with a five hundred dollar junk weight box, which just sits! So, I’m on the phone to Honeywell in the morning to complain. But were at -50 points…..I’ll keep you posted, but until then, be advised to AMAZON no refund policy…another words…go

To the real store, and do not buy a HONEYWELL…Doug

March 8, 2010. After this email and an email to Amazon, I was given more than satisfaction. They reimbursed my money, which was not anticipated. It speaks very well of Amazon and its customer relations, which will keep me as a buyer. However, the product still stands, unable to fix or start, which means I’ve turned in back to the manufacture with a letter of concern on there product quality control. Thanks Amazon.com

  5. Teana says:

I ordered this believing Honeywell brand would be a reliable product. “Wrong”, very difficult to start even following instructions. Finally got it running for an hour, then couldn’t restart. Honeywell said to drop it off at one of their repair facilities which was 150 mi from my location. The repair facility checked it out and said they were unable to solve the problem. Honeywell then shipped another unit to replace the original. Can you believe it, the new one did the same thing. Ran for short time then you can’t start it again. The repair guy said to forget this brand and buy a Honda. That is what I did, however I still have the Honeywell to dispose of. DON’T even think of buying one of these generators.
